Steering Group

The Devon Food Partnership brings together key stakeholders from across Devon’s food system into a steering group. The role of the steering group is to inspire, support, and connect action around the county. A wide range of organisations are represented on the steering group:

Working groups

The Devon Food Partnership includes three working groups:

Food Insecurity:

The Food Insecurity Working Group brings together organisations and individuals with a strategic interest in tackling and preventing household food insecurity (poverty) across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay. It supports the Partnership’s ‘Healthy Food for All’ priorities through advocacy, insight sharing, coordinated funding, and relationship-building. The group is made up of Council teams, Devon Community Foundation, researchers and representatives from VCSE’s.

Food in Schools

The Food in Schools Working Group supports schools across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay to improve access to nutritious food, promote healthy eating, and embed food education into school life. It brings together educators, researchers, Council teams, and food organisations to share good practice and deliver impactful initiatives.

Food Economy

The Food Economy Working Group focuses on strengthening Devon’s local food system by supporting sustainable farming, ethical food businesses, and circular economy practices. It connects producers, researchers, and community organisations to build a resilient, low-carbon food economy that benefits people and planet.

The existing Devon Agri-Tech Alliance (DATA) also works closely with the Partnership. This group works to further good practice using new technologies, regenerative methods and science to build a more sustainable farming environment.

Outside of Devon

The Devon Food Partnership is part of a Peninsula Partnership with Cornwall, Plymouth and Torbay, working on collaborative projects across the boarder and sharing knowledge.

We are always keen to facilitate more joined-up working across different organisations, locations, and groups. So, if you have a project and are looking to link up with other partners, get in touch as we would love to hear about it.
