Food Producers and Processors – help us to understand the South West food supply chain.

A new joint initiative with partners from across the South West has been established to fund and deliver research to better understand the South West’s food supply chains.

This research could provide information on how supply chains could be shortened and how producers could be supported to access public procurement opportunities by identifying opportunities to improve the system for people, place and planet.

The project is looking for volunteer farmers, food processors and public sector procurers to take part in interviews which will help to map food across the public sector supply chain from farm to fork.

Partners from across the South West will collaboratively fund this research, which will be delivered by the University of Exeter, including:

  • Devon County Council,
  • National Farmers’ Union,
  • Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership,
  • Somerset County Council
  • University of Exeter

If you are a food producer, food processor, or public sector food procurer and would like to take part in a research interview, please email Amanda at A.Goodwin@exeter.ac.uk.
