FoodSHIFT’s next public webinar, Farm to Fork, is on Monday 30th May at 11:00am.
Farm to Fork – Why a sustainable food strategy is the only option to solve today’s and tomorrow’s crises.
Soaring energy prices, the rising cost of living and threats to our food system brought on by the war in Ukraine have provoked panicked calls for more intensive farming and a scaling back of green ambitions. But we need to stick to the Farm to Fork food strategy, which lies at the very heart of the European Green Deal, if we want resilient food systems now and in the future.
In this webinar, EU Horizon 2020 project FoodSHIFT2030 is joined by network partners Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming, IFOAM Organics Europe and Eat, to discuss transforming food systems in European city-regions in line with Farm to Fork, from protecting peri-urban wildlife, building fairer supply chains for our farmers and food entrepreneurs, to promoting more plant-based food consumption in the cities.
Speakers include:
- Silvia Schmidt, Policy Manager, IFOAM Organics Europe
- Vicki Hird, Head of Sustainable Farming, Sustain
- Christian Bugge Henriksen, FoodSHIFT2030 Project Coordinator
- Olav Kjørven, Senior Director of Strategy, EAT
