The Co-op Foundation: Carbon Innovation Fund

Apply for the Carbon Innovation Fund!

The Co-op foundation have recently launched the Carbon Innovation Fund to support food and farming projects that are tackling the climate crisis by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This project aims to award funding of between £75,000 and £100,000 to approximately 10 projects within the next year.

Organisations that are eligible for funding include; charities, social enterprises, co-operatives, and local, regional, and national governments worldwide.  

The Carbon Innovation fund is the latest of several green initiatives by the Co-op Foundation, including Heeley Trust, The Conservation Volunteers, Co-operative Alternatives and Cynnal Cymru (Sustain Wales).     

The Carbon Innovation Fund will support projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and this could be related to one of the following:  

  • Farming and food production practices   
  • Initiatives around regenerative agriculture
  • Community supported agriculture initiatives   
  • Supporting diversity, resilience and learning amongst key players within the food and farming sector   
  • Promoting behaviour change

The deadline for first-stage applications is 12pm (midday) on Friday 10th December.    

The outcome of first-stage applications will be announced by Friday 17th January 2022.
